Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Mineral County Criminal History. Reading the content, opening a page, or using a search tool signifies acceptance of every term below. Do not continue using the website if you disagree.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected with any local, state, or federal agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another use governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The website provides directions to Mineral County, West Virginia criminal-record resources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It does not store official files and cannot retrieve a record, conduct an official background check, or submit documents for a user.

Its role is to identify the offices that maintain Mineral County records, including the Sheriff, criminal courts, West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, and West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to optional third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you must not:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar tools on these pages
  • Use site information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
  • Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law
  • Rely on this content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or system
  • Interfere with website performance or another user’s access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from this website or a linked service to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Misuse may be criminal. This restriction is especially important for the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry: W. Va. Code §15-12-5 and the registry notice limit misuse of public data. Registry access supports safety awareness, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners’ tools are also not offered here for applicant screening, rental evaluation, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. You may not use this site or a linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally required check for any regulated purpose must come through the appropriate official West Virginia State Police process or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Mineral County procedures cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a particular person. Consult a licensed West Virginia attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered “as is.” We make no promise that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, sealing orders, and expungements can change a record. Updates may lag or be incomplete. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Mineral County Sheriff, a court, the West Virginia State Police, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-resource, or outside search websites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, data practices, or charges. Review their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Mineral County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code on this website. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your website use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

West Virginia law governs these terms, and a dispute arising from website use must be brought in a court located in West Virginia. Official public-record access remains subject to the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code Chapter 29B, while dissemination from the state criminal-history repository is separately controlled by W. Va. Code §15-2-24(d).

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access without prior notice and for any reason.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected language will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.
