A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of the search terms on our systems.

We retain an email or other message long enough to review and answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Our servers automatically receive basic technical and usage details when a page loads:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Mineral County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Mineral County Sheriff, the courts, the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, and the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Information entered there is governed by that provider’s privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a search because we do not control them.

Links may lead to Mineral County offices, West Virginia courts and agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once you leave this website, the destination’s privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal information.

The West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code Chapter 29B, governs requests to public bodies and does not turn this private website into a government records custodian. W. Va. Code §15-2-24(d) separately limits dissemination of state criminal-identification information. For visitor data held by us, and subject to a verifiable request, you can:

- Have us fix information that is wrong
